Spice Up Our Concrete World

Structurally speaking, not many options are given when constructing a commercial building. Concrete, brick/block, steel, or wood are essential to the structural integrity of your building. However, the exterior finish doesn’t have to be concrete gray or brick red. Wall panels, rainscreen, curtain walls, and accent systems can be installed over the exterior walls (new or existing) and are available in a wide range of standard, premium, and metallic colors. Also, the systems are available in a variety of profiles, shapes, and textures, which will “Spice Up Our Concrete World”. I know….cheesy, but true. On a serious note, the installation of those systems will protect the structural components and require far less maintenance than just paints and coatings.

In case you didn’t know, Cole Roofing is not just a roofing company. Cole Roofing also installs wall systems. Contact Cole Roofing today to assist you with designing and installing your next wall system!

The Lyric gets a roof upgrade with Cole Roofing Company

The Lyric Theatre in Baltimore was built in 1894. The building is on the national register of Historic Places. It is one of the gems of our city.

So, when it was time to modify the roof, it made sense to choose a roofing company with the capacity, competence, and over 100 years of experience. Cole Roofing Company recently completed the roof renovation project. The work performed included restoration and coating of the existing metal roof, thereby extending the life of the roof for over 20 years with a manufacturer’s warranty.

The extreme pitch of the roof challenged our team to ensure that the coating was properly applied and safely implemented. The job required a lot of pre-planning and frequent review.

The Lyric is located on Mt. Royal Street near the University of Baltimore. It is another of the many historical projects Cole has performed that ensure Baltimore’s treasured buildings are handled with care.

Commercial roofing technologies are still evolving

Even as Cole Roofing has passed the 100-year mark, new technologies for an older industry still
evolve. Here are a few to deploy:

1. Drones for roofing inspections: Commercial roofing companies can use drones equipped with cameras to conduct roof inspections. This can reduce the time and cost associated with traditional roof inspections and provide more accurate data for decision-making.

2. Thermal imaging cameras: These cameras can be used to detect moisture and energy loss in commercial roofs. This can help identify potential issues before they become major problems.

3. Roof coatings: Advanced roof coatings can reflect sunlight and reduce the temperature of the roof, resulting in lower energy costs and increased durability of the roof.

4. Solar roofing: some commercial roofing companies offer solar roofing solutions that generate electricity and reduce the energy costs for their clients. Our associated company, Gordian Energy Systems can provide you with a complete assessment of your roof’s fit for solar.

5. Mobile apps: Roofing companies can develop mobile apps for their clients to make it easier to schedule appointments, track the progress of their project, and communicate with the roofing company.

Implementing new technology can help commercial roofing companies improve their services, reduce costs, and improve customer experience.

High-Performance Cold Storage Roof Design? What’s that?

High-performance cold storage roof design is essential for maintaining the integrity and functionality of cold storage facilities. The design of the roof system must take into account the specific requirements of the facility, including temperature control, moisture management, and energy efficiency.

One important consideration in cold storage roof design is the choice of insulation material. Insulation must be able to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the facility while also preventing moisture buildup that can lead to mold and other issues. In addition, the insulation material should be energy efficient and able to withstand the extreme temperature fluctuations that can occur in cold storage environments.

Another crucial aspect of cold storage roof design is the use of reflective roofing materials. Reflective roofs can help reduce energy costs by reflecting sunlight and reducing heat absorption. This can also help extend the lifespan of the roof by reducing thermal expansion and contraction, which can cause damage over time.

Finally, proper ventilation is critical in cold storage roof design to prevent moisture buildup and maintain air quality. This can be achieved through the use of vents, fans, or other ventilation systems that can help regulate temperature and humidity levels.

Overall, high-performance cold storage roof design is essential for maintaining a functional and efficient cold storage facility. By considering insulation, reflective roofing materials, and ventilation, architects and designers can create a roof system that is optimized for temperature control, energy efficiency, and moisture management.
