Built on a Legacy of Safety Since 1919
Celebrating 10 Years of Safety Week in 2026
For more than a century, Cole Roofing has built its reputation on quality workmanship, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to safety. That commitment remains just as important today as it was in 1919. This year, we’re proud to celebrate a major milestone: the 10th Annual Safety Week at Cole Roofing and Gordian Energy Systems.
For ten years, Safety Week has served as a focused reminder during our busiest season that every decision matters. Our work depends on it. Our people deserve it. Most importantly, every team member deserves to return home safely at the end of each day.
Why Safety Week Matters
Back in 2016, CEO Bill Cole challenged our teams to elevate and strengthen our safety culture. Rather than holding safety events during slower months, he believed the greatest impact would be felt during the height of summer construction activity, when crews face their busiest schedules and the greatest risks.
That vision launched our first Safety Week and established a tradition that continues today. Every year following the Fourth of July holiday, we dedicate a full week to refreshing our safety knowledge, recognizing the efforts of our field teams, and reinforcing the behaviors that keep everyone safe.
Ten years later, that commitment remains stronger than ever.
Safety Week Traditions
Over the past decade, Safety Week has grown into an important company tradition centered on education, recognition, and teamwork.
Daily Foreman Huddles
Each morning begins with a foreman huddle at our facilities. These gatherings provide an opportunity to review safety topics, discuss emerging jobsite conditions, introduce new tools or equipment, and set expectations for the day ahead.
Daily Toolbox Talks
Toolbox talks are a year-round practice at Cole Roofing and Gordian Energy Systems, but Safety Week brings an added level of focus. Crews participate in daily discussions covering key safety topics, reinforcing best practices and encouraging open communication about potential hazards.
Enhanced Jobsite Inspections
During Safety Week, our operations and project management teams increase the frequency of safety inspections across active projects. Multiple documented walkthroughs throughout the day help identify risks early, reinforce accountability, and demonstrate our commitment to maintaining safe jobsites.
Safety Swag with Purpose
A favorite Safety Week tradition is distributing practical safety-themed gear to our crews. Throughout the years, we’ve provided hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility apparel, lunch bags, water bottles, and other items that reinforce safe work habits both on and off the jobsite.
Lunch with Leadership
One of the most meaningful aspects of Safety Week is the opportunity to connect with the people who make our success possible. Leadership, operations, HR, accounting, estimating, and support staff visit active jobsites to personally thank crews and share a catered lunch together. These gatherings create valuable opportunities for conversation, appreciation, and relationship-building among employees and subcontractor partners alike.
Celebrating a Decade of Progress
As we mark our tenth Safety Week, we’re proud of how far we’ve come. Over the last decade, we’ve strengthened training programs, adopted new technologies, enhanced jobsite procedures, and continued investing in the resources our employees need to work safely and confidently.
Most importantly, we’ve built a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility. From the office to the rooftop, every team member plays a role in protecting themselves and those around them.
More Than a Week—It’s Our Culture
While Safety Week lasts just five days, the mindset behind it guides our actions every day of the year. Safety is more than a program or initiative. It’s a shared commitment to looking out for one another, making smart decisions, and doing the job the right way.
As we celebrate the 10th Annual Safety Week in 2026, we thank every employee, foreman, supervisor, manager, and trade partner who helps make safety a priority. Together, we honor the legacy that began in 1919 while continuing to build a safer future for the next generation.
Ten years of Safety Week. More than a century of safety leadership. One shared commitment: Every person. Every job. Every day.
